Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the information on this Web site for my report/article/Web site?
All of the materials available through this Web site are in the public domain and can be reproduced and distributed. We ask that you give full credit to the Web site and to the authors of the reports and that you do not modify or sell any content. If you use any of our content on your Web site, please provide a link to our resources.
Does this Web site have specific information on…?
To find specific information, type keywords related to the subject in the search box. Examples might include “binge drinking” or “alcohol advertising.” The search function is on every page of our site and can be accessed easily from our home page.
How can I add my college’s alcohol policy to your database?
If your college’s alcohol policy is not in our database, please send a link to your online alcohol policy to our webmaster. If the policy is part of a student handbook, we prefer a direct link to the policy; however, you may send a direct link to the policy or a link to the handbook as a whole.
If you notice that your alcohol policy is included in our database but the link is broken, the policy is out of date, or there is some other problem, please notify our webmaster and send a link to the current policy.
Will you exchange links with my Web site?
All link requests are reviewed on an ongoing basis, and new links will be added to our site as appropriate. To request a link exchange, please e-mail the webmaster with the name of your Web site, the URL, and the reason you believe your site would be a valuable resource to our audience. We will not link to Web sites that promote the use of alcohol or commercial Web sites.
How can I get involved with your program?
The purpose of our Web site is to share information with the public about research completed by our panel of scientists in coordination with the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), a Federal Government agency.
Although we do not represent a national organization you can join, we can offer you resources to help with your goal of changing the culture of drinking on college campuses. Please feel free to visit our Resources page to learn about existing groups you may be able to join.
Can I conduct an interview with a scientist from NIAAA? Is someone available to answer specific questions?
If you have specific questions or would like to conduct an interview with someone involved in the College Drinking Prevention initiative, please e-mail the webmaster to inquire about availability.
What should I do if I find a broken link on your Web site or if I have a technical problem?
If you see a broken link or notice any technical problems with the Web site, or if you simply want to send a comment, please e-mail the webmaster. We always are interested to hear from our visitors.
